put in Alaimo

He couldn't figure out O'Connell was our best QB two years ago and he couldn't figure out Mockebee was our best RB. The only way he figures it out is when these players finally get a chance to play. He definitely is no Tiller when evaluating players.
Exactly right!

I can hear the public announcer next week say, " Pass complete from Alaimo to Jones, good for another Purdue touchdown". 😎

Not sure whether O'Connell felt he had to get rid of the ball multiple times , so he immediately went to Jones or he isn’t seeing other receivers open! Whatever the reason, it was a disaster for Purdue.

Ohio St ran Stroud for over 100 yards yesterday versus NW because of conditions. We could have used some wheels at the QB position. I’m surprised we didn’t play Burton or Alaimo much earlier in the game.

I don't know what happened to Coach Brohm we all watched in his first couple of years at Purdue he would change QBs at the drop of a hat & continue changing until something worked. Not saying that is the ideal situation, but it certainly promotes competition and production out of the position. It might actually light a fire under someone's ass which this team desperately needs.

Position coaches are supposed to assist, but I do agree. He should also be evaluating the play calls on both offense and defense

Changing starters on offense fixes the defensive coordinator inability to figure out an Iowa formation? Who knew? Changing offensive starters somehow changes what a team needs to do in the B1G to win? Ha ha.

I wasn't talking about a win , just give the kid a chance to show what he got down 24 -3.

I like AOC, but when he is in there is 0% chance of a run. I've seen many teams this year on 3rd or 4th down and short the QB fakes to the RB into the pile, keeps the ball and runs around the edge. Stroud did it , psu's qb did it vs Mich, Levis of Kentucky and others. It's a nice play but it's not an option w/ AOC

I think he’s cooled it a lot after he constantly ripped into Jack Plummer. People saw this and it most certainly would have a negative impact on future recruits. Brohm has learned to temper his displeasure with his quarterbacks.

I agree to an extent in the last series of the last couple games.

I certainly wouldn’t replace O’Connell when we are still fighting for a bowl game and technically not out of the West race yet I don’t think.

we have lost to two ranked teams, Iowa, and Wisconsin. It’s not like we have just shit the bed this season. We still have something to play for and as long as that is the case we have to play our best qb as of right now.

I'm afraid that he knows something that most of us do not... He can't win with his #2 &#3 QB and he doesn't want to play the Frosh because he's not ready....

To put an inexperienced QB in cold in the middle of a game is pretty hard to do ! But as bad as O’Connell was playing, it wasn’t gonna hurt much

nonsense, w/ 11 min to go put in Alaimo, maybe provides a spark at least he can run if needed and let's see what he got, was a perfect situation for him
