Haas' efficiency was off the charts, but Vince's shooting numbers were ridiculous as well. Vince also led the team or tied in both defensive and total rebounding, which may surprise some.

Taylor was productive with the minutes he got, and I know a lot of fans came out of the WUG viewing him as a positive.

We are an awesome 3 point shooting team. Out of our 8 man rotation, who is our 5th best 3 point shooter?

Haas' FGA were way down from where I expect them to be this season (especially in the non-conference). Still, I think there is a real chance Carsen will lead the team in FGA. I don't feel great about that, unless he starts finishing better. However, I did some some improved defense from Carsen as well as more of a willingness to dish at the rim.

I only caught a few glimpses live plus the highlights and reports on each game, but from what I did see it looks like Jacquil Taylor showed real promise.

It will be a big boost for Purdue if he becomes a regular contributor --- especially on the boards --- this season.

A lot of Haas' limited touches comes from the reduced shot clock, IMO. Going to a 25 second shot clock and only one that goes back to 15 on an offensive rebound hurts his overall effectiveness. Also, Carsen shooting .423 is surprising considering I thought it would be lower considering his games where he is bad he continues to shoot the ball with little regard. I wonder if he will simply be a high volume shooter or if CMP and staff can reign him in a bit more to be more effective with a more conscious effort to be better on shot selection. One instance comes to mind when Vince dribble up the court and passed to Carsen on the wing who jacked up a 3 point shot 2 feet beyond the arc with some one directly in front of him. That can't be the norm and hopefully he can reign that in just a bit more (don't want to tell an aggressive player to be passive...that's not what I am saying.)
