Now that they've lost to Marshall, Purdue will be lucky to win 2 games! Hopefully I'm wrong, but it does not look good for the Boilers!

Marshall fan here.. First and foremost good game, second of all I believe Purdue is much better than it was a year ago.. I don't know how many games you guys will win because you play a pretty treacherous schedule.. But, I believe you guys have made some strides.. Got a couple of nice running backs that are tough kids.. Their going to have good careers for you guys.

Ha. Sorry state of affairs when Marshall fans feel comfortable making these types of posts.

Until a good football program becomes a priority for the college administration and the athletic department, Purdue will continue to be a Big 10 bottom dweller!

Not trying to ruffle any feathers.. I know it's tough after losses.. But, best of luck to you guys the rest of the year.. I'll be pulling for you.

Im not really trying to either, as I came to "Purdue" site, I really enjoyed having you all here in Huntington today and would love for the series to continue.

You have to understand that as the "Bigger Brother" WVU mentality that everyone hates here, is just because your in a P5 school doesn't make you the better team all the time. I know it was through a text, however that is how it came off to me when I read that.

Much respect for the B1G to come to Huntington! I wish you the best for the rest of the season as well.. I hope to see you guys again in the future!

This lack of respect for the opponent obviously showed on the field today

No it didn't, Purdue is just a horrible football program. We've won 4 games in the past 2 years, those kids aren't out there taking anyone lightly. They're just not any good, and neither are the coaches.

I don't know about the kids so much, Hopeless as much as I hated him, was able to do better with about the same quality.

I appreciate your kind words.Come back anytime.

I think "Hopeless" sums up the Purdue football program very well! I feel sorry for the players, they deserve better than what the current staff has or will be able to offer!

I think Purdue will be fine. I seen a bowl team out there today for sure. This team may surprise you going forward, this was not Pudue from last year, that team would have lost by 20+ today.

I hope the fans that made the trip had a good time and make it home safe.

You guys hung tight with a fringe Top 25 team that returned a lot of talent from last year. Nothing to be ashamed of. Losses always suck but your team did plenty right today, too.

And trust me, Marshall fans know what it is to suffer through a coach that just won't go away. We had Mark Snyder. Hang in, it'll get better.

Hi goherd,

I admire your optimism, and I know there are a large number of Bowls, but I'm not aware of one that invites a 2 win team, which it appears we have!

I think the offensive coordinator needs fired. This is absolutely a coaching problem at least offensively. That much is clear to everyone. That was some really reallllllly bad play calling especially in the fourth quarter. These pass plays he drew up are absolutely awful most sincerely. Our old coach had a mustache. Mustache took much less talented guys as a whole to at worst a 5 win... 6 win season. But actually beat teams like Ohio State. On 3rd down we are constantly coming out in obvious pass plays with a run look as of its fooling any1. If those plays are supposed to be some kind of magic trick then I'm David Copperfield. And the Qb is eyeing 1 receiver so bad even the tv commentator spent significant time talking about it. What ever happened to slant passes, the single hardest route to cover. Or down the field passing. Crossing patterns. Down and up. 4 receiver sets. Do we even have more than 1 formation?

Purdue has to play a whole different level of competition than Marshall plays. You overrate your own team if you think beating Purdue yesterday with the difference being pick sixes means that both you and Purdue are good.

Your perceived competition is better. Outside of 3 teams in the big ten, our too tier in cusa can compete just fine. Just like La Tech over Illinois in the bowl last season.

I know we have a good team. And we turned it over a lot in uncharacteristic ways like johnsons fumble. Lang made some plays, indeed, but i don't count good INTs like Lang had and your DB had as a "turnover" but as a takeaway. Fumbles are unacceptable, and we had a few, that helped you all alot. Watch and see if yu don't win 6 games this season.

Is it time for Purdue to start a search for the next head coach?
I think that would be wise. I just don't see this team winning against any big ten teams this yr except maybe IU. And that game won't be easy. They can throw the ball and we can't. Improvement in many areas other than Qb performance yes, but not enough to pull a win against the kind of teams on our schedule. 3 wins last year. If we have 3 this years my expectations will be exceeded. He has 1 big ten win so far in two years. Ironically Hazel thinks Appleby takes care of the ball and had 4 interceptions two pick sixes and a similar performance against IU. If Kentucky kid gets out there at Qb I may re-evaluate my expectations.

Hi goherd,

Thanks for "trying" to make Purdue fans feel better. However, pointing to a La Tech win over Illinois is not very persuasive as last year's Illinois team is the one Big Ten (and for that matter the only Power 5 conference team) Purdue has beaten since Hazell became the Purude head coach.,
