I'm gonna go ahead and say 20-17 Purdue.

We run for 2 TDs, one from Jones & one from Appleby. The defense forces 1 turnover that puts us in field goal range. Both offenses struggle, but ours gains a slight edge and gives us all we need to win.

Unfortunately I will not be there this weekend

VA Tech QB struggles first game on the road throwing a few picks after we crowd the box and make them throw...and we open up the playbook offensively to do everything we can to keep them off balance (trick plays and misdirection). Boilers are primed for a breakout win and I think this will be it.

If I can find somebody to go with me tomorrow, I will be there.

Why: Virginia Tech is able to control the ball game in all three phases and takes advantage of their special teams experience to turn the tide late in the game to score a TD in the 4th to push it from 20-17 to 27-17. Appleby goes 22-36 for 235 yards and 1 TD while Knox/Jones combine for 150 and a TD.

Will you be there? I would love to be there but I simply can't afford tickets. I'll be watching at home again unfortunately.

I just don't see Appleby being able to throw the ball effectively vs their DBs. Their bear defense makes it extremely difficult to run against. We keep it close for the majority of the game but they're just too much late in the game.

VT 31 Purdue 27 appleby throws a meaningless TD late to Yancey for the backdoor cover.
