I refuse to pay extra to watch...anyone else taking this stance? Retired...and on a fixed income, now. Well...my paycheck varied because of pay differential working evenings, nights, Sundays, and holidays. Where I worked...never closed even on Christmas. Now..my income is much less and I'm too old to work anymore.

TBH this outrage over the game being on Peacock is so overblown. This is purely of a function of the way channels are being delivered in 2023. The days of the rabbit ears and the one cable provider are long gone. Today one has the ability to literally customize their channels.

It is a PIA but streaming is still so much better . Direct TV is going to be gone or just extremely rural areas. I finally got WiFi this yr. Wasn't available before.

I am saving so much and so many more channels, get to somewhat pick what I want vs paying for 200 channels and using 24 of them. Remembering subscriptions and where who is playing when is a bit tougher and I'm sure I haven't figured out all the tricks yet. Big10+ was the one that really got me before. There is other stuff on Peacock and they offer big sales .

I am also retired & on fixed income. I will watch.

Where I draw the line is actually going to the game for my wife and I likely a $200+ deal with tickets, parking and going out to eat. I miss that too. But on top of Christmas doesn't fit the Bidenomics budget this year. lol

But by all means get at least the free trial and have a great time at home watching the game with family or friends. ENJOY the game! Boiler Up.

It was posted on Black Friday that you could have had it for $1.99 a month for a year or buy it for a year up front for $20. Or just pay $6/month for a few months and then cancel. E Z P Z.

Not a fan of all the streaming either. But I've decided to get on board and we just pick and choose which ones make sense for us. Peacock at $1.99/mo was the easiest decision we had to make. 5 PU games (we're going to Indy tomorrow) plus all the other games on there was an easy decision for us.

You could have bought a YEAR of Peacock for $20 over Thanksgiving weekend. @tjreese posted about it.
I get his point. I have the largest cable package, Netflix, Amazon, Disney, espn+, etc.. and STILL can't watch what I want to watch? Also **** BTN they were supposed to be the solution to this.

Plus you get Premier League, racing, every SNL sketch, not a bad deal at all IMO.

I do wish the game was on CBS instead. I have to believe the number of viewers is way higher there than Peacock? I could be wrong...

It's more about NBC trying to get Peacock subs.
Oh, I know why NBC is putting it on Peacock. I'm just saying I wish it was on CBS. I have to believe those CBS late afternoon windows have way more viewers than Peacock. This match-up should be seen by as many people as possible. Peacock is just too new to do that.

I guess it’s sort of like TNF on Prime. Less viewers, but the NFL doesn’t care because they are making more money than if was on free TV.

I'm wondering if there was/is some set number of games that NBC is allowed to put on Peacock? I would think so, but I'm not familiar with the latest agreement the B1G signed. Besides Peacock, all the other outlets in the contract are ones that most everybody already have in their TV package (I'm not counting BTN+ because the games on their are not big ones). So I think the only issue people are going to have is Peacock and if you jumped on the black Friday deal it's pretty cheap.

NBC has a contract with the B1G now, so that's where it goes. Just like football.

Tomorrow, CBS has the IU-Kansas game along with the doubleheader of O$U/UNC/UCLA/Kentucky that they do every year.

As long as their checks to the B1G keep clearing, they can probably put them on CNBC if they want.

Well…I mentally broke down and signed up for $6.40/month w/tax considering this season could be special! How do I watch it on TV? I do not see peacock as an option on my smart TV. Help?

You will need to add the app to your list. Try the main page of the smart tv and look for a plus sign at the end of the apps list.

NBC had some football on their main NBC network on Saturday nights. That would be much better than Peacock for number of viewers.

Would love to see the viewer numbers afterwards of the CBS games versus PU on Peacock. I'm interested in the difference right now in streaming vs network.

Was it that long ago that you only needed Channel 4 to watch most Purdue games? :)

WLFI - 18 as well......the Home Run Bomber days..... :)

I won’t pay it either. Will find a way to get it without paying. Streaming for me sucks as we just tried it. Unfortunately had to go back to Comcast.
