Apologies if this has been posted (I didn't see it - but there's also been a lot of threads in the last couple days).

Purdue will charge $10 to park in the Northwestern and University Street garages on gameday. You can reserve online in advance. Other garages will remain free, but I think the closest ones would be McCutcheon or across from Krannert.

From an Exponent article:

"Purdue Parking had been in dialogue with Purdue Athletics while coming to this decision.

“(The admission charge) was for the sake of maintenance and clean up,” said Alexander. “I went to them and they didn’t have any heartburn over it, so we decided to go through with it.”

Could the timing be any worse?

Hopefully they are splitting the profits with the AD. Those tens of dollars could really be put to good use.

While there are still a few fans still attending they figure they better pick up a few tens of dollars while they can.

There will probably be more students and faculty parking who are coming on campus to get some work done than attendees at the "football" game. I'm sure they will be pleased.

Hopefully this will fund the moving vans scheduled for the shoop residence in november.

Can they advertise that all parking revenue goes to buy out Shoop and Hazell?
The garage will sell out every week

ROFLMAO ...

This is the typical kind of crap they do to the fans when interest is low so they can say oh it's been like that for a while when fans come back after the program gets fixed.

I'm wondering if they'll do it for basketball. Hopefully not since games fall on weekdays and many students/professors park in these garages.
