Purdue recruiting Swanigan the hardest

During the McD interview, when the interviewer asked Caleb who was still in the running he forgot to mention Arizona. The interviewer had to remind him. Did anyone else catch that?

Oh wow......heard Alan Karpick this morning talk like we still have a shot. But, did relent that....can he say "No" to final four coaches???? C'mon Man! Land this big fish.

I keep trying to tell people that we have a legit shot at him. Being in the area you "hear" all sorts of stuff and one common thing is that Purdue still very much is in the mix.

I think only one team is in the mix at this point since he is announcing next week. I can't imagine it is still fluid if he is ready to announce.

Obviously he knows, his decision is made.... Purdue obviously has a shot with this one. That's all we can ask for lined up against schools of that caliber.....

So saw your response on my phone since ignore isn't working on the app and wanted to give props to you at least for not making a derogatory response. What we need to do is just agree to disagree on Painter .. remember that and not reduce threads in to 5th grade banter. Something we have both been guilty of.

Anyway, I don't think it is fluid per se .. but that Purdue and Painter have very much been in consideration and you never know, he could surprise us all and pick Purdue. But if it is true that it is a package deal out to Cal, that is hard to pass up.

Jerry Meyer the guy at 247 said its down to us, MSU and Cal and we are each offering different things.

Cal - the package deal
MSU - is saying they plan to use him like Draymond Green
Purdue - saying you will be the 4 in our offense next to AJH and Haas, and that is what he wants.

I am crossing my fingers, but watch him pick Duke or something haha

Originally I did not think we would even make

usher, let alone bride. Now it looks like we have a good shot at 1st loser(bridesmaid). Never would have thought.

Jerry Meyer tweeting that he wouldn't be surprised at all if Swanigan chooses Purdue.

Hunk I've been critical of you in the past.....You show no bias I'm sorry, you just tell it how it is.

Nah, watch Ohio State come in out of left field to snag him. Didn't that happen with a kid recently? Went with O$U completely out of the blue? I can't seem to remember who it was

I'll say it again. We get biggie and a 5th year PG and we can be national contenders. If AJH leaves and we add nothing else, we could be a bubble team. Big offseason for CMP.

Same goes for cpr he has been critical and his arguments are legit and well put together. I just don't know how to be unbiased lol.

Jerry Meyer also writes that Zo and Rosie are close lifelong friends. Really, Rosie is 15 years older and from Fort Wayne and zo is from East St. Louis. I find the package deal a little odd too, as Ivan is in Oakland. Biggie gonna make a decision like that based on playing with someone he remotely knows.

I have no knowledge of the situation, but from the outside looking in, the package deal thing sounds like a reporter connecting dots, getting excited, and exaggerating a bit because of how neat a story it would make. I like Cuonzo and want him to succeed, but I haven't heard a lot from Swanigan that actually makes me think he'd go there. He even downplayed the package deal in the first big article ESPN posted. The folks who wrote the eye-catching headline didn't write the article either, which suggests further artistic license.

I think it comes down to Purdue and MSU. I know MSU and Izzo are formidable, and I know why Purdue fans are cynical. But remember that it only takes one or two big recruits to turn the the tide. Izzo is getting older, and Painter is just heading into his prime years. At some point there could very well be a changing of the guard. I'm not saying we get Swanigan, but I wouldn't be as surprised as some.

Arguments are not legit and well put together when they consist of all or nothing. If Purdue doesn't get Swanigan, it doesn't say that Painter can't recruit.

You wouldn't now it by reading these boards, but we have more 4 star talent on our team currently than the "Baby Boilers" teams. We didn't have 4 star players coming off the bench then.

Hammons and Davis were Juniors. Smotherman and Stephens barely contributed. The only other is Haas. Who cares how a kid is rated after he is on the team? Don't call out the board as we spent 2 years in last place, then only managed to be a "bubble team" this year. No matter how hard you try to blame us, it's not our fault just because we call it how it is. If we're so loaded with talent, as you claim, we should not have been a "bubble" and "One and done". I'd like to see Hammons stay and Swanigan to sign....IMO, we need at bare minimum one to remain stable. Lose both? We decline, IMO.

My point isn't that we're loaded with talent. My point is people keep referring back to those years and saying "when we used to have talent", etc.

It's also a joke for you to say that Stephens and Smotherman "barely" contributed. That's just completely out of reality.

I can't count the number of years that Purdue was predicted by the realists to have a bad year because of who was or wasn't returning. They almost always respond by winning or challenging for the B1G title. How about this year? The realists predicted another last place finish and no tourney. The reality was a 3rd place finish in the B1G and a solid entry to the tourney. (Only the realists still call them a bubble team. The NCAA Committee certainly didn't. But then, their agendas are different.) The freshman class is very good and will be sophomores. Players will develop over the summer. The entire team will have another year together to sharpen their team play. For the first time in some time Purdue will have at least one senior who has been in the program for 4 years. The coaches will make adjustments and the players will step up.

I can't rely on your judgement anymore since Wisconsin made it to the Final 4:)

Sorry, I'm just being a smart ass and giving you crap:)

Ok....I hope so. If AJ leaves and Swanigan signs elsewhere, I think you're wrong....but, hope you're right.
