Probably the 8 seed, playing at noon Thursday. And probably in need of a win to get in the NCAA.

Link: Loss

The Dr. Hyde team showed up today except for the third quarter. Terrible first half in which Oden and Mac had 2 pts total. Despite catching fire and making up a 15 pt deficit for a tie in the third, Purdue wilted and played like the first half and it was quickly no contest. We might or might not beat Rutgers, but even if we do unlikely to beat OSU, which has emerged as clearly the best team in the conference. I do not think a win over Rutgers will be enough to get us into the NCAA but our wins over rated teams might do it. A wide margin home loss in our final game does not help. It might be unpopular to say this, but with the youth and lack of depth on this team a NIT bid might be more beneficial. Next year is promising IF we can develop some depth. Games like these drive fans crazy. Would have expected more on a Senior Day, but MSU got back a key player and she really hurt us today. It is what it is.
P.S. MSU has a big front line and that is a death knell usually for this undermanned Purdue WBB team. Very little success vs that kind of a line up and the reason Indiana beat us twice. Not much we can do until next year, but it was clearly the difference today.

There's just too much up and down in this program. It's all too difficult. Recruiting strong players, keeping them, keeping them healthy, beating teams we used to whip, etc. The program is not where it should be...not even close despite some courageous wins. If this were a new coach, I would get it. This is year 11.

Certainly hard to stay too up about what they do. They will not fire her this year. Next year will be telling tho it all depends on the expectations the AD has. Today's crowd was quite large by BT standards, probably to honor Keys who really deserves it.
