Purdue beats #16 Minnesota 3-2 at Minnesota. Purdue had 17 service aces. Colvin had 7 of those service aces. She also lead the team with 19 kills. Julia Kane subbed in to serve with the score 10-7 Purdue in set 5 and served 3 straight aces to give Purdue a commanding 13-7 lead.
Set scores were 26-24, 23-25, 25-20, 23-25 and 15-10.

Watched it and it was very exciting. We have to work to win this year as nothing is easy in this conference. We bent at times in this match with turnovers/mistakes, but were dominating at times also. A big crowd in Minnesota, but our team handled it well. A good needed win. After another poor football showing, I needed this. Go Boilers!

IMO this was a huge road win for the team after the recent challenging stretch of games. Even though the Gophers were 8-3 going into the game, they've played a very tough schedule and were ranked 16th in the country with wins over both Texas (No. 1 at the time, now 8) and Wisconsin (No. 7) this season.

Any idea why Lizzie Carr was in street clothes last two games? I also did not see Raven Gray at all-that means we have 0 backup hitters!

Purdue’s ladies aren’t a deep team, wish Coach (great man and Coach) would have hit the portal this offseason and picked up a capable depth piece player, don’t think Gray was the piece.

Gray was added at the last minute, only after Heaney and Rastovski were lost. Have heard she was not adjusting well to D1 level volleyball. She’s also not very big, looked noticeably shorter than Colvin.

Thanks, do you think Dave needs to be a little more aggressive in regards to the portal?

I don’t think there is much NIL money available for the volleyball team to work with.
We would have been okay with front court depth if Heaney and Rastovski had not been injured.
Listened to his press conference this week. He mentioned the fact that we had zero frontline backups in the Minnesota match. Said the injured player (Carr) should be back by now. Said only that the other player (Gray) was unable to be with the team. Did not go into detail other than to say it was not for disciplinary reasons.

Attended Shondell’s situation room prior to the Michigan State game last night. CDS said that he had tried to recruit a couple of outside hitters for this season, but was unable to get them. He didn’t mention any names but said that one who is now at Penn State is the daughter of a former PSU football player. I assume that he was referring to Caroline Jurevicius. This was before he found out he was losing Heaney and Rastovski.
