Maryland 37-29 at half, Maryland is the much better team, Purdue on D playing tough. However, the Boilers especially Taylor are terrible with their passes, also, Maryland is killing them on the boards, athleticism in the girls game is ridiculous from the top teams to mid tier teams. We'll see what the final turns out to be, guessing the Terps win by 15 or so.

Well it turned out to be "only" 12 points, but I agree about the disparity in athleticism. Purdue did play tougher this game than their last meeting, but some lazy and telegraphed passes, and getting beat on the boards kinda spelled doom for the Boilers.
Both teams were sloppy at times, and although it was a loss, it was not an embarrassment.
Now we wait...

Given the clear talent disparity, Purdue could not have played better today, but were no match though, after the drubbing last week, could hold their heads up. Many mentioned the bad passes. It's not just bad playing; it's Maryland's physical superiority. They have the speed and length that the announcer kept referring to that harassed Purdue into these turnovers. And when Purdue missed they were down the floor like eagles and TOTALLY dominated on the O boards. This Purdue team could not ever beat this MD team and that is true for a lot of BT teams. Only the teams with similar athletes can compete. Purdue does not have that.
--Now the drama. Do they get in the NCAA--could go either way. Will there be a new coach--could go either way. If Purdue makes the Dance, do you let a coach go? The fan base really seems to want it, but a fan base is only that.
--The loss of Oden and Harris will make next year hard to even match this disappointing season. Fatuo has been a real surprise if she can sustain it. MC will is always good but will be under more pressure with out her amiga at her side. There is some young talent that has to be developed of course. Will be very curious to see what happens in the off season.

Next years lineup looks like Diagne/Farquhar/Hardin/Mac/Taylor/Layden looks decent, bench with one of Taylor/Layden, Grant, Whilby, Kyle, Gony, looks decent, probably another mid tier finish like this.

Consistently losing to Indiana, coached by a Boilermaker alum , is more than sufficient reason to make a change.

Don't forget Woltmann who could be a starter.
Good call, did Bria Harmon redshirt this year? I also forgot Mokolo, she showed some promise as well. Team will be deep, however, team needs stars, Oden will be more easily replaced than Harris

Team needs coaching. Versyp’s molasses
Offense is ineffective vs more athletic teams. Also to get better we need to recruit better athletes. A new coach may be able to do
Both. Well know when the post season is over. For no cogent reason, I am
Predicting Sharon steps down.

You assume Makolo showed promise because SV played her in every game. The facts:

.231 shooting percentage
0 for 5 from three
.364 free throw percentage
one point per game
1.5 rebounds per game
21 assists 28 turnovers

I did assume that, those stats are nasty lol. What happened to Harmon?

Harmon played early. Maybe only in the exhibition game, which means she redshirted. If she blew her redshirt and didn't play that is very bad so assuming she redshirt. Quick but slight. Needed a year.
