Purdue makes fastest rise from unranked to No. 1

Matt Painter and Purdue now own the record for the fastest arrival at No. 1 after being unranked, breaking the record of another Boilermaker, Johnny Wooden, with his 1963-1964 UCLA Bruins who ended 30-0 and won his first NCAA championship.

Don’t ask about what happened to the last previous team to do it.
