Obviously the build up is always great, but it's been a pretty unexciting rivalry game for a while. Saw a stat that the last 8 meetings have had an average margin of victory of 19.4 points (23 pts in IU wins, 15.5 in Purdue wins).
Was the last one that was actually a big game when the Baby Boilers took on IU in Sampson's final year? I'm pretty sure that Crean and Painter have never been ranked at the same time coming into the game, and last year was probably the most evenly matched game since Crean.
Just pointing out that a game that used to be so heated, with such competitive teams, has been pretty lackluster lately. I mean, when was the last upset win?
