One of my favorite stats sites is Bart Torvik’s site. I was comparing Purdue’s recent play to the rest of the NCAA so I looked at efficiency since January 14 which includes Purdue’s last 5 games.

I wasn’t surprised to see Purdue at #2 overall in that timeframe, but what surprised me is that Purdue is the #2 defensive team in all of college basketball over that time period. It is really shocking how well this team is playing defensively and Edey has a lot to do with it. (For the season, Purdue is much higher on offense than defense, so it has flipped recently).
I am starting to think that Edey might be much better suited for the NBA than most draft websites have him ranked because his pick-n-roll defense has come such a long way since last year.
