Is there really a baby race?!

Absolutely. The race was from the free through line to the baseline. When the ref said go Thomas Bryant emediately ran to the three point line near the corner and is still calling for the ball. Izzo slipped in a puddle from a leaky Pampers and stopped halfway through to complain to the halftime reporter giving the Boiler baby the opening he needed to take the race. Very exciting indeed.
