Remember that more important than your own NET ranking (4 currently) is your record against the different quads. Currently Purdue is:

7-1 vs Q1 (most in country)
2-0 vs Q2 (low - causes us to not have the most Q1+Q2)
6-0 vs Q3
4-0 vs Q4

Remaining schedule (bolded games may change quads):
@ Michigan - 77 currently Q2 but Q1 if they get to 75
MSU - 41 currently Q2 needs to get to 30 for Q1

Penn St - 48 Q2
@ Indinia - 19 Q1 easily
Iowa - 38 currently Q2 needs to get to 30
@ Northwestern - 51 solid Q1
@ Maryland - 45 solid Q1
Ohio State - 24 somewhat solid Q1
Indiana - 19 more solid Q1
@ Wisconsin - 64 somewhat solid Q1
Illinois - 31 Q2 but close to Q1 and I would expect to get there

Unless we play Minnesota, all BTT games should be Q1 or Q2.

----------
Past games:
Milwaukee - 159 Q3 - cutoff is 160 so will be close
Austin Peay - 304 Q4 and staying there
Marquette - 14 Q1 and staying there
West Virginia (N) - 30 Q1 and staying there (50)
Gonzaga (N) -12 Q1 and staying there
Duke (N) - 29 Q1 and staying there
@ Florida State - 187 Q3 and staying there
Minnesota - 216 Q4 and staying there
Hofstra - 108 Q3 and staying there
@ Nebraska - 92 Q2 slight chance of getting to 75 for Q1?
Davidson (N) - 164 Q3 and staying there - would be Q4 if it was considered a home game
New Orleans - 350 yuck
Florida A&M - 358 yuck again
Rutgers - 22 Q1 and should stay there
@ Ohio State - 24 Q1 and will stay there
@ Penn St - 48 Q1 and will stay there, currently would be Q1 even if it was neutral
Nebraska - 92 Q3 just like the roadie, would move up if they got to 75
@ Michigan St - 41 Q1 and will stay there
@ Minnesota - 216 Q3 and will stay there
Maryland - 45 Q2 and should stay there

Q4 I think is what's dragging Houston down like an albatross......they have a bunch on the resume plus a Q3 loss.

Q1 - 4-1
Q2 - 5-0
Q3 - 1-1
Q4 - 9-0

We are currently projected #1 overall seed. If we win out it’s not an issue. This really should be a discussion towards the end of the year if more losses have occurred.

Are you saying Illinois is a Q2?

Yes - if the Illini end up outside the top 30. Home games are Quad 1 for (1-30 NET ranking). There naturally is fluidity to the rankings and thus the Quad records. That was also part of the discussion regarding the Penn State game @ the Palestra. It could make a difference if the game is "away" or "neutral." As it stands now, that's a Quad 1 win for Purdue unless Penn State falls outside 75. When it was first labeled a "neutral" game, it would change if Penn State fell outside 50.

Here's the criteria for Quad rankings:
  • Quadrant 1: Home 1-30, Neutral 1-50, Away 1-75
  • Quadrant 2: Home 31-75, Neutral 51-100, Away 76-135
  • Quadrant 3: Home 76-160, Neutral 101-200, Away 135-240
  • Quadrant 4: Home 161-353, Neutral 201-353, Away 241-353
