It is a great night for Purdue's guards as the Boilermakers missed a bunch of early shots at the rim, but recovered to close the first half strong. Here are some thoughts from the first half.
  • If Purdue is going to finally break through in March it will be ebcause of Lance Jones. The grad transfer has already been good this year, but he was dominant in the first half with 12 points and three steals, causing all kinds of problems. He'd be even better off if it wasn't for a rough time at the line going 1 of 4
  • The good news for MIchigan is that it held Zach Edey scoreless for the first 12 minutes and Purdue was shooting 33% at the time. The bad news is they were down 24-10 at that point.
  • Braden Smith is officially on Ice Cube Watch (Last week ______ around and got a triple double). He has 9 points, 3 rebounds, and 6 assists so far. The only thing that may stop him is Purdue winning by a blowout margin and fewer minutes.
  • Purdue was 6 of 8 from three.
  • Michigan was already struggling this year, but this is not a good team without Dug McDaniel. Purdue is still rolling despite having a 1 of 10 stretch. It is great to see Purdue just take care of business here.
