I don't think the official rankings are out yet. If so link please because I haven't seen them yet.
AP released, coaches poll comes later
I wouldn't put too much into our human poll rankings right now. If we keep beating teams we should we'll be top-10 within a month. Count on it.
My beef is human preseason rankings still having an affect this late into the season
CBS we are still 17. Tennessee is 1 spot above us at 16. These things are just as hard to figure out there reasoning as the UFC rankings.

The biggest problem is a majority of the pollsters (journalists AND coaches) simply don't watch enough games to evaluate fairly. They also all have their own unique biases to deal with too. I think they should use a formula like the BCS used to, 2/3's metrics (computers/kenpom, etc) 1/3 human polling. Would need to wait til Jan/Feb for that to be viable though
This is the way it's always been and the way it always will be! It's people realized this and stopped complaining about it ! The press on is based on last year's finish and not this year's expectations! If Purdue had won the WUG and beaten WKU and Tenn and lost to Nova, they'd be in the top 5! as it stands now, the only way Purdue will move up now is if some other team like Seton Hall loses! Once you're in that top 5, it takes 3+ losses in a row to drop, and once you finally win, You immediately move back up again. Just ask Arizona!
Had Purdue lost to Nova in the Bahamas, they would not be a top 5 team with only one loss. Many would view Purdue as a good team with an inability to compete with the higher level programs this season. Likely Purdue would be in the vicinity of 9-12 right now.
At least this guy gives Purdue some love in his power rankings...

How can Gonzaga still remain at 12 when they need an overtime to beat an awful NDS team (kenpom 164) at HOME??? Sorry for the rhetorical question. I feel better now.
Only losses are to Florida and Nova. Have wins against Ohio State, Creighton, and Texas.
Getting WAY ahead of things here, but just for fun (it's a festive time of the year after all), I would not mind seeing Purdue meet Gonzaga if they would both happen to advance to the Regional (Staples Center, perhaps?).
this year's ratings are based on last year's accomplishments. Until Purdue does something, they won't get the credit or notice teams like Gonzaga receive.
Gonzaga pulling that garbage game out on Saturday hurt us. How they enter their "conference play" so probably no more losses until March. Only way we pass them is with good wins. Simply not losing to turd teams will not be good enough
