Bill Moose Skowron went to Purdue on a football scholarship, but ended up a big-time baseball player at Purdue and in MLB. He was an 8-time All Star and 5-time World Series champion with the Yankees and L.A. Dodgers. FYI for the younger Purdue fans who like baseball.
He was way before my time, but I’m trying to get back into baseball and I enjoy MLB history. He was a friend of Tony Button who owned Lafayette Travel Service and handled Purdue football and basketball travel (my parents were good friends with Tony and his wife, Anne; they were generous to my mom after her divorce).
Anyway, maybe some of the senior KHC folks knew him and could share a few comments. If nothing else, it’s a necessary diversion for me from the crap known as NIL.
