Purdue’s all solid team post Tiller’s hiring

This is how Northwestern never has a playmaker like Rondale Moore but they still get results we dream of. They don’t worry about their top end .. to me .. nearly as much as their bottom end.

it’s very hard to beat northwestern by picking on a player the way we picked on Michael Ojemudia and Manny Rogumba when we beat Iowa in 2017.

i think that when it comes to teams like Purdue .. fans think “well if we can just get another playmaker” .. “if we can just get rondale on the field with Wright and bell” .. and that makes some difference. But the real difference comes when it’s hard for your opponents to find a weakness to attack.

I think I already see the position on our defense that opposing coordinators can look to time and time again. And it will make our pass coverage at the second level and 3rd down defense problematic

but I’m curious .. who are some players where you say “we should be able to put a guy like this on the field consistently”..? Those are my 22. Many could be replaced by someone else similar.. If you think it’s jerod void instead of Knox or Joey Elliott instead of blough, that’s cool..

I always mention Jaycen Taylor in these threads (some ridiculous amount of carries without being tackled for a loss).

if their starting MLB goes down, it’s much more likely that a player like anthony heygood is going in the game than Ben holt.

no offense to holt. I’m sure he’s a great guy. But this is big ten football

in 03 we lost to a superbly talented Georgia team but hung tough .. that’s because we had no weakness

Oh we had one. His name was Sean Petty and he got burned for two long TDs to put Purdue in the hole it had to dig out of. I think Jacques Reeves had to sit for grades and it may have cost us the game.

you guys may know and I don’t.. if brohm blasts the officiating and takes a fine.. is the big ten the kind of environment where that would only make it worse
