I am happy that his hard work and effort paid off......

He did the two things he needed to do and that was cut down on the turnovers and make quicker decisions with the ball.....

I think this year with a more experienced offensive line, he will be able to get the ball over the middle and deep 25+ more often.

I still feel he will need to extend the play at times and then also put his body in harm and run the ball every so often to keep the safeties and lb's in check.....

Will be a long physical year for AA and Blough better be ready because he will be needed at times.....

Boiler Up I think this season we see big strides.....

I am ready!

I'm with you 100%. I think that AA is going to have a really big year. He is very much of a mystery to most Boiler fans. I personally feel confident knowing that our QB is in his 3rd season in this system, and that he is 6'5" 239 lbs, yet he runs great for a big QB. All of this is nothing new, as he was an Elite 11 QB and won very high praise from Trent Dilfer (see the YouTube video). This OL is the best we've had in years. Our WR's are really good and deep. We also have backs who can catch the ball. Every little thing about this team makes it seem like it was custom built for AA to be the engine driving it. Only 4 more hours until kickoff. History awaits these BOILERS. Go lead these Boilers to victory AA!

I believe AA is the real deal....character, toughness, humility, ability and drive. He will make us proud today. Norm

You may have been ready, but AA obviously wasn't.

What are you guys smoking. Man your expectations are low. We should have q top tier quarterback every year, this is the cradle of quarterbacks after all.

A Marshall fan here. I thought Purdue played well and could have turned the momentum possibly for good when they got the interception deep in Herd territory. The play calling on that series was conservative to say the least. The Boilermakers should have gone for the kill. That mistake along with the missed FG let Marshall hang around.

That being said, I was impressed with both of your backs, your corners, and D & O lines. I also like your head coach. If they can regroup properly and take this loss as lesson, I think that Purdue can be successful this year. The glass is half full.

The series after the interception killed us. Plus AA throwing terrible intercept runs and missing the wide open TE in the endzone.

Two main issues led to defeat:
1. Conservative play calling when we needed to get a two score lead late in the game allowed Marshall to get back the momentum.
2. Appleby has the bad habit of locking on his primary receiver. He has to get much better at looking off the db's or it will be another long and painful year for the Boilers.

I didn't like the play calling ether, but then again, think about the guy you have out there trying to execute. Appleby isn't exactly a guy I would have much confidence in to be aggressive in critical situations.

Thanks for the compliments. You summed up my feelings perfectly..

Good luck the rest of the season. I think you will be fine, and i really don't believe you all know how good of a football team you played today either, or refuse to respect it because of a patch on the uniform, but this was a top 25 team last season, with a decent amount o returnees and younger guys that got a lot of PT last year.

Purdue will go 6-6
ISU
Bowling green
VT
Minnesota
Indiana
Illinois

All wins.

LOL this team will get crushed by Va Tech and can't beat Minnesota either. I suppose there's a chance vs BG, Illinois, and Indiana but those could just as easily be 3 losses. I know you guys think you're really good, but you are missing just how bad Purdue has been and continues to be.

Marshall guy here. Came over to say specifically that I was impressed with Appleby. Couple of bad plays, but the kid is an athlete and he's only going to get better as the year goes. The toss while stiffarming a guy was great, even if I screamed a little when it happened. Hope anybody that visited Huntington today was treated well. I'll be pulling for you guys for the rest of the year.

Unless IU gets all of their players back and somehow find about eleven more that can tackle,Purdue should beat them.

Congrats to the Herd. We will regroup and be much better. :)
