Couldn't disagree with this take more. You think they just don't care? What?
I feel better, if you’d have agreed with me, I would have known I was wrong. I really think the Purdue AD was always against the BTT because they felt it diminished the the accomplishment of winning the regular season title. To me it’s always been nothing more than a money grab.

Haha I don’t care so much about wrong or right. Those are trivial pursuits of the ego. I still think the players very much care about it, but just my opinion.

Isn’t this the last one? Didn’t we do some legislation that will put an end to it?

I loved growing up in Indiana before we adopted daylight savings time. People from out of state would ask “so what happens when the time changes?” Well, all of our channels from from Eastern to Central and I get 2 straight hours of Seinfeld reruns

The Senate passed a bill to end it with 2023, but it never made it further through the legislative process as I understand it. More time for nothing.......

Have you ever gone? It’s a lot of fun and a great event. I’ve never understood the hate for it. It can pad a resume, and it gives even teams like Nebraska one last chance to Dance.

Once in Indy several years ago, never again. I guess I am old school, but surely 30+ regular season game results is enough to determine who belongs in the NCAA tournament or not.

Fair enough, although some teams take time to develop over the course of the season more than others/some teams are playing their best basketball at the end of the year. I don't really see the downside of it.

agree, reminds me of pro football, hey let have a wild card, now it's more wild card games, all about $ and all these gambling sites that endlessly promote themselves on TV commercials

The B1G tournament is usually most important to bubble teams. Purdue hasn't really spent much time on the NCAA bubble since Painter's early years. With the exception of 2020 (when it was cancelled after 1 round), Purdue has either been clearly in or clearly out of the NCAA picture. Plus, there isn't often much to gain for the conference champion.

All that said, it might be a little different for Purdue this year. Right now there's not very much separating Purdue and UCLA for that last #1 seed. It could be a big deal if one of those two clearly out-performs the other in their conference tournament.

This. I think we need to get to the final to hold the #1, and even then it might not be enough depending on what UCLA does. I did say before the O$U game that 5 wins would do it. Still think that.
