Pre-season Scrimmage today vs Marquette

Eh. It's a glorified practice. Different matchups/lineups, Petree didn't play, doesn't take into account situational series etc.

Always good to win or show well in these, but they do not predict the season at all. Purdue mbb got thumped by WV in this game before they should have gone to FF. Ha ha, Hindsight is blind sight. Boiler up! I think Katie will have them playing with steam.

While I agree not to make TOO much of this, it should concern everyone that the same Marquette team we last played in the WNIT that lost 4 of the 5 players they had in double figures against us beat us in this scrimage when we had all but Moore back and had our new players and Layden for this game. Even with changing lineups this is an opponent that we should have easily handled. They returned 22 points production from our last game against them, meaning they found 45 points of scoring from their new players or additional scoring from returners.... nearly as much as we got from our whole team. Not a reason to jump in a lifeboat yet, but if you hand wave it away, you risk really being shocked when the real games begin.

Relax Michael and just enjoy the season. I'm looking forward to the season so much that I'm actually subscribing to Big Ten Plus for the first time.

Versyp took the beautiful mansion that was the Purdue Women's basketball program, and turned it into a dilapidated shack. This is going to take a while to rebuild!

Way too early too tell from any scrimmage. KG may have just tested combos. When the games begin, we will see. Good coaches are more interested in developing than winning these kinds of games. Painter has played around with early seasons for years.
