Purdue is #12 right now which is about where I think we should be. Thought I read somewhere the committee will be using more of these stats come seeding time.
I tried to find the article but couldn't come up with it. I thought I read that RPI is still a consideration this year and that next year they will be looking at other sources. I hope you are right it's this year because KenPom is favorable to us and RPI is a joke.Purdue is #12 right now which is about where I think we should be. Thanks Tex. That's the one.
RPI is just so inaccurate, it's amazing it has lasted this long. Right now it has Minnesota #24! If the tournament was today they wouldn't even be in it or at the very least the thinnest of bubble. Yet they are RPI top 25. So much better measurements out there.
The world will never really be free until nerd persecution ends.Hey, Dry, here's an interesting article from last month....
http://www.ncaa.com/news/basketball...ll-ncaa-tournament-selection-process-involves
"An aggregate metric could be an official part of the selection process as early as 2018."
Also, here's the current principles and procedures for the "Bracket."
http://www.ncaa.com/content/di-principles-and-procedures-selection/
"The RPI is one of many resources/tools available to the committee in the selection, seeding and bracketing process. Computer models cannot accurately evaluate qualitative factors such as games missed by key players or coaches, travel difficulties, the emotional effects of specific games, etc. Beginning each December, the NCAA will release the official RPI on a daily basis at www.ncaa.com."
Lastly, yes, I have no life....I'm a nerd and uh, pretty proud of it......
