Polls Thread - Week 4

And another, this time at #12

"Purdue coach Matt Painter benched center A.J. Hammons for the first two games this season, and Hammons has come off the bench for the last four. Usually benching a future pro who has been your best player the last two years isn't going to work out so well, but instead, replacement center Isaac Haas has turned into Purdue's new star, given the opportunity.

The 7'2" sophomore is leading the Boilermakers in scoring at 15.0 points per game and has been one of the most efficient scorers in college basketball. He's shooting 75.6 percent from the field and 73.7 percent at the free-throw line. Now Hammons, averaging 9.3 points per game, becomes the most talented sixth man in college basketball. Nice luxury."

As of the coaches poll today we will eventually play the #2, 3, 13, and 25th rated teams in addition to at least a couple of teams that fell out of the top 25 and/or receiving votes. Should be an interesting ride as the team will certainly be tested. Let's hopefully start with a win at Pittsburgh and keep the leagues best BIG/ACC record rolling.

And to show again that the media often goes on name recognition alone, they still have Wichita St ranked 20th, with their 2-4 record.

Nice to see the Boilers continue to climb the polls. And always really nice to see IU drop out of the top 25 :)

Why am I not surprised Vitale & Davis voted Purdue on the low side. Probably saved higher ranking for I Spew!!
