Some real credibility in the polls where Oregon St is receiving votes and Purdue isn’t where your only loss is ND and theirs is you.

I personally don’t think the PAC12 or Oregon St are all that good, but that doesn’t make any sense.

I could care less about polls right now. Who gives a shit. Just keep winning. I get IU fans loved talking about their ranking preseason and last year, until they lost to Ole Miss...

It's probably just an (over?) reaction to Oregon State housing USC in LA yesterday. I'm not sure it means anything, but it makes our win against them look better if the Beavers put up a strong season.

I'm not sure how a lucky, come-from-behind, home win over a crappy Illinois team would inspire anyone to think Purdue is a top 25 team. I would have been surprised if we got a vote.

But as usual, it matters not anyway.

Yes, polls this early are BS.

no, Purdue should not be getting votes.

Funny how a lucky, overtime game for ND vs FSU (who is beyond crappy at 0-4) and another nail biter vs Toledo (2-2) kept them in the Top 25. But hey, you can believe what you want I guess...

But they dropped while winning. And with polls, it's as much to do with where you are at the beginning as anything. That's why they suck.

You really think Purdue is top 25 worthy?

Did I say they were? No. But a win is a win. And it likely helped Purdue get there should they win a couple more in a row...

We could likely have a valid/productive conversation on those that aren't (which, would likely bring Purdue into that same conversation).
A productive conversation on this page? Surely you jest!

You may be right. I don't think it brings Purdue any closer than the fringe of that conversation though. I think this team is on the upswing, but there is still a long way to go.

No, you didn't say they were. That's why I asked what you thought. You seemed to be comparing Purdue not being ranked to Notre Dame being ranked, which is pretty incomparable, so I'm not sure what your point was.

Hey... it's worth a try!

I'm not saying they're there (top 25), but it's also clear there are teams who have no business being there (or receiving votes).

My point was, Notre Dame continued to be ranked after just barely beating FSU and Toledo. So a win is a win and ultimately counts toward votes in the end. Would you prefer Purdue lost to Illinois?

Notre Dame not dropping from 8 to out of the top 25 while actually winning has absolutely nothing to do with Purdue going 3-1 and still not having votes. I hate Notre Dame with the best of them but that logic is illogical.
