Polls are coming out...

AP is out: http://collegebasketball.ap.org/poll

We came in at @20 there.

Other notables: Iowa jumps us to 19, MSU to 5, and Butler to 18.

All seems just fine to me.

A good game tonight between #1 Kansas and #2 Oklahoma at Kansas. I think I might have flipped those two teams but if Oklahoma wins tonight they will correct that themselves.

Should be a good one tonight, Punaj. Is this finally the year someone other than Kansas wins the Big XII?

There are a lot of good teams in the Big 12 this year. I'd have to pick Kansas or Oklahoma right now. Kansas probably has the better talent but Oklahoma might have the better team play, IMO. I wouldn't mind seeing someone break the Kansas regular season winning streak.

Yep, I'd say this qualifies as a pretty good game.

Game of the year so far as Kansas outlasts Oklahoma in three overtimes. Oklahoma caught a break at the end of regulation when a rebounding foul was called. It looked like a good call, but often that isn't called. One of Oklahoma's poorer FT shooters missed a front end with 2 seconds left, which would have likely won it.

Two other thoughts from this game:

1. I know you want the last shot if it's tied coming down the stretch or in OT, but it seems now.....it's just "pound the rock" outside the top of the key until there's three seconds left and just make something happen after that.

2. Anyone see the play right before half......Heller? Terrible call on Kansas (defender made a great clean strip on Hield I think it was), and Self goes ballistic......and T'd up right away. I give the official a knock for blowing the call, but I like that he wasn't afraid to T up Self (in Allen Fieldhouse) who clearly used a string of profanities (something like are you %^&^ing crazy several times). Now, I don't necessarily blame Self.....and I think he probably would have been given some leeway had he not used "salty" language. Hield made three of four FT's to stretch the lead to four. Would you see a Big Ten official do that? Maybe to Fran or Groce.....

I'll add a couple points:

1. One of the best games I've seen in a long time. It reminded me what good basketball looks like. Those are 2 very good teams and I'm glad they are not in the B10!

2. No way Izzo gets T'd in that same situation at Breslin. We have seen him use plenty of "salty" language and get away with it.

I hear you, Dryfly.....

I have to revise slightly.....I think Self says......are you %$#@ing kidding me?
