I did one of these for the running back position earlier and liked being able to see what many of you thought. So here I am again with "the most important position in football". Heres the lowdown on all options.
Austin Appleby - Started last half of last season, and started strong beating Illinois and leading Purdue in very competitive games with Minnesota, and Michigan State but really cooled off towards the end of the season. A "dual threat" qb even though his running is more wit than it is athleticism.
Danny Etling - Started the back half of 2013 as a true freshman and came in to 2014 winning the job back but getting pulled for the last time against Iowa, and didnt see the field afterwards. Was a 4 star recruit, has a great arm but just seemed lost mentally the majority of the time last season.
David Blough - Redshirt freshman who is supposedly the next Drew Brees due to him being of a similar stature, and from the same state as Brees. Did well in the elite 11 camp as a recruit, was a 3 star. Seems to have a decent set of wheels and was renowned by Dilfer for being as mechanically sound as any recruit in the nation. Put up modest stats in a huge Texas football school (the same one Ryan Russell went to)
Elijah Sindelar - With the 6'5 Sindelar breaking all kinds of passing records in Kentucky, and then enrolling at Purdue in the winter there was supposed to be a chance he would swoop in and be our savior. In typical Purdue fashion the plan was ruined as Sindelar tore his ACL in one of the last games of the season and will be most likely eliminated from starting consideration.
