Granted there is still Michigan out there but it would really let the team play a little more loose I think if they already know they have an outright bigten championship.

They wouldnt have an outright championship if they lose. Maryland and Michigan still would need to lose. Its kinda sad that we need this to happen as the 5th ranked team.
Maryland just lost. Stated that michigan is still out there
Only 3 of the last 12 ncaa champions were outright winners of their conference.
I think they would be:
'21 - Baylor
'17 - North Carolina
'12 - Kentucky
the next team back (4th) would be '07 Florida.

Crazy how many of the top half teams fell unexpectedly (or was it?). Iowa is poised to pounce for a really high BTT seed, now.
Maryland loses away at OSU and NW away to PSU. Early on Purdue beat PSU and OSU away. Early wins payed off, they are not so easy. Now just finish it off tomorrow.
First second chance points of the game for Penn State....made 'em count, though.
One scenario: Purdue loses at Whisky Thurs, while Mich wins at ILL. Then Purdue loses to ILLSun (12:30p). Which leaves IU on senior day (4:30p) to play Mich. Would IU lose on purpose. Just kidding. Purdue with tiebreaker. Is that only for BTT seeding?
Only for seeding - however, Purdue has clinched the #1 seed in BTT with Indiana, Maryland, and Northwestern losing this week.
Since tiebreaker is only for seeding, if Purdue loses two, Purdue would have to rely on IU to beat Mich later Sun for outright B1G title. Assuming, Mich beats ILL Thurs. But, Purdue's not going to lose rwo. That would be impossible. hmmm...
Not to be Captain Obvious here, but Purdue needs to win these last two games to recapture momentum and confidence--regardless of what other teams do.
Should be interesting to see how much energy and the ability to overcome, that this team has left these last couple of weeks.
Definitely agree that this Boiler team needs better play and some confidence going into the post-season.....regardless of the standings. It will be interesting tonight to see how they respond.....we shall see.
I don't care at all about seeding, shared or outright Champs, etc. Beat freaking Wisconsin tonight by 15 and start getting this train moving forward at full steam again. Hoping other teams lose will get you no where in March. BOILER UP!
I remember one poster saying NW was going to catch the Boilers, most knew that the NW crap couldn’t or wouldn’t last. Let’s win these last two, the Big Ten stuff is over.
I think you're tremendously overrating what being 5th ranked team means.
If you had told anyone we'd be the position to win the Big 10 with 1 win prior the season everyone would be jumping up and down with happiness.
