Anyone have any info on the players who went thru surgery during or after season was over! The guys gonna be ok ? Just wondering, especially at wide receiver!

Didn’t we also have a linebacker who was out all of last year who’s back or will be back?
And does anyone have any updates on the O-linemen who has surgeries? How are they progressing in the weight room, flexibility things like that? They could be a strength this year at least the first group and sounds like we have some very capable second team

I am hoping Trice will be back and close to 100%. We could have used him last year.

Thompson showed in the bowl games what we could with 2 bad knees Like to see what he could do with 2 good knees. The problem is how he recovers from knee surgery. Knee surgery is different for everyone.

Line wont be a strength this year. Just hope it doesnt hold us back.

I think a lot of folks are sleeping on Sheffield. If he comes back 100% in shape for fall camp, I expect big things from him.
Most people need Munson and Louis skolnick to tell them something about Purdue football to form a thought. If GBI said Sulaiman Kpaka was gonna show out, you’d get resentment if you asked why they think that. Wanna know how I know?

They said it about Jared Sparks without one thing in the universe that would form a rational basis for why one would think that. Every offseason they’d say it, I’d ask why people thought that, then I’d get the “how dare you” routine until his ass still hadn’t done more than AT Simpson ever did and he was no longer at Purdue.

ask GBI why they pumped sparks every year and sheffield isn’t getting more pub. Despite sparks amassing 642 yards and 1 TD in FOUR YEARS at Purdue and Sheffield going for 325 and 5 TD last year

With bell
With Wright
With Durham and Miller
And while splitting time with anthrop

as opposed to when all you have to do to be the man on offense is be better than Gregory Phillips

Which brings up another question. Why was sparks Mic’d when Terry Wright and Isaac Zico weren’t when Gregory Phillips got 442 and 2 TD in one year to sparks 642 and 1 in four.

Not sure the OL will be that much better. But maybe more depth and experience.

first game will be very telling, cause psu will try to out physical us.
Yeah, playing physical hasn't been much of a strength for this OL. It's one thing I'm not sure I understand. When you're 6'5" to 6'7" and 300 plus pounds, I'm not really sure how you can't be physical and create a push at the line of scrimmage, especially against lighter DE's. If you can't get mean and want to push guys around, why the h@ll are you playing football?

There are several issues with the OL

1) The coaches havent proven they can recruits OTs
2) Just because youre 300lbs doesnt mean youre strong or explosive
3) Pass blocking is a passive activity by nature. For a pass heavy team, its better if the tackles are laterally quick. We havent had that since Herrmanns left

I get #1 and #3. And I get lateral quickness. But a 300lb tackle ought to be strong enough to take on a 260lb DE or LB run blocking straight away, especially if you have a TE next to you. If not, you really have no business playing P5 ball.

I find it ironic that a guy who's touted as an offensive guru can't find the critical players to make his offense run properly (ie, a more balanced run/pass game)...

With the jump from conference USA to B1G ,I think brohm struggle in the trenches. What worked prior does not work now. I’ve seen his OL recruiting adapt, to his credit. I still think he struggles at Ot. I think we are set on the interior
