Painter on Purdue Basketball Podcast

The Timberwolves player whose name CMP couldn't remember is Zach LaVine (played one season at UCLA). He probably became more familiar with the on-goings in the Timberwolves organization when Hummel was living with him during the '15-'16 season. Hummel and LaVine played together in '14-'15.

Painter spoke well of Stefanovic (of course, since he recruited him) but he didn't necessarily make it sound like he believed SS could play right away next season, either.

Thanks 02. Everybody should listen to it. It's a dose of optimism alot of folks need to hear. Btfu!
This is exactly why the haters on here shouldn't be taken seriously. They have little insight in to the goings on with the team and recruiting nor what it takes to be successful at this level.

Was a great listen.

Sheesh. Drama much? Who hates Painter, exactly? There are folks who question his ultimate ceiling as our coach, but no one "hates" CMP.

I don't see him ever going to a FF, for example, but I do like him and think we could do a lot worse than him as our coach. Does that make me a "hater"?

Drama? Not hardly when it's pointing out something accurate. Clearly it has stuck a nerve with you since your response is far more dramatic than what I said.

There is questioning and critiquing the coach, then there are some that take it to a whole new level. Whether people are a 'hater' or not all comes out in how they post about CMP and no one really has to point it out because it's fairly obvious.

So who hates Painter?

From a friend who attended the clinic for Indiana coaches last weekend, he felt Painter was in a good place mentally and emotionally from years past. He said he felt like CMP was more relaxed and seemed to be more himself and was constantly cracking jokes during his demo time and in his off time as well.

Read through the post history and find out for yourself, it's quite obvious. Specifically calling out posters as you are asking is against the sites TOS.

Alternatively, just pay attention after a loss, it's even more evident because that is when they come out of the woodwork.

Hey can we not turn every thread in to a whinefest please?

I know it's slow right now but come on ...
Agree. I was merely just stating a fact and others are dragging this on in dramatic fashion, not me. But I will do my part and not partake in the squabble.

Painter was the guest for the latest Purdue bball podcast. They touch on a lot of subjects including a season review, Owens, Lutz, Biggie, etc. Starting at 37:39 Painter gives a few thoughts on the incoming players:

Thanks for posting this. I always enjoy listening to coach Painter talk all things basketball.

I thought it was interesting how he mentioned next year's recruiting class is being over looked and they have potential to have very good careers at Purdue. He is not the type of coach that ever over hypes things, so it was nice to hear him talk highly about the potential of next year's class.
