Ouch….even as a Purdue fan I feel bad

Amusing...accurate though.

Not sure what would make you feel bad...I am just happy that they threw a bunch of money at them when they did.

I have noted it several times...no Athletic Dept. in America that has made more poor decisions financially, leading to the present incredible deficit being faced there.

Now, even as a Purdue fan, I did feel bad in learning about the death of former receiver Demarlo Belcher...felt more bad as I read comments from former players and coaches, as, most seemed to have lost contact with someone that they all at one time were close with and quite fond of. Sad what ultimately happened...sad that nobody was seemingly there to help him much after he left. Similar in that regard to James Hardy.

Not anything new that we have not been saying on this board for years now ourselves.

I hope he personally is around for a long time at IU. The geese can go.

Talking to a former IU FB player and grad today about the FB program and he told me as fact that there are enough alumni that want him gone with the money to do it that if he doesn't finish in the top two this year, they've got the numbers to buy him out. Odds are, he's certainly gone.
And the rebuild clock resets to zero.....

not doubting your source, TD, but I'd be surprised to see him gone at the end of this season.

IU would go from a national coach of the year, to firing said coach within 2 seasons, with no scandals in between.

Not sure what coaching candidates would be willing to take a step forward and accept that responsibility ... especially when it comes with this (historically) inept FB program.

No.. did you at least try a half hearted “oh come on it’s not THAT bad”??!

Well, I think with the new AD, the trigger's not going to take as long. It's the football guys turn to dump their loser. BTW....he did say Allen is a great guy. But he also said anyone around the program knows Allen's wins were a fluke.

Nope. When a former IU player tells me that he's a part of that group that will buy Allen out I simply smile and say...."Don't pay his first offer."
Should have at least gone for “oh come on, he’s a nice guy …” we want him and Scott frost to be around for a while
