Recently had a player charged with attempted murder. Several players earlier this year charged with fraud. Glad Coach JB is recruiting high character kids to Purdue.

Attempted murder seems to be right in line with unable to execute ;)

Reminds me of the famous line from John McKay, coaching the winless TB Buccaneers

  • Following a Tampa Bay Buccaneers loss in their early seasons, McKay was asked what he thought of his team's "execution." He replied, "I'm in favor of it."[29]

I know a bit about the Rutgers Athletic Dept. It has been in turmoil since the firing of the Basketball coach formerly at Robt Morris and then the AD (Pernetti.) They brought in a female AD from Louisville and she was a disaster. She made a bad BB hire for HC who was a legacy from the coaching staff. His father had been the Baseball coach. He did not do well. They fired him and got another coach, a BB legacy - former player- and he did not pan out. They finally got rid of the female AD and replaced her. The FB coach was doing OK but they got rid of him and brought in Ash, the current HC, from O$U. He has not done great. In fact, he is #1 on the Coaches' Hot Seat blog to get fired.

Rutgers is a mess. They were never ready for the B1G and the chaos has prolonged the needed ramp-up. The only thing that they have brought to the table is TV viewership in metro NYC and metro Phila areas.

Plus their chancellor, Deba Dutta who was previously provost at Purdue, resigned after only one year in the position,

Anyone know the real story there?
