it was mentioned in a previous thread about how the nfl has become nearly like wwe-style entertainment (on field and off really).
i didnt see the entire game (mostly 2nd half), but that sure was a debacle on many levels.

inconsistent calls / player 'protection' -
thought shazier's helmet to helmet/leading w/the crown was pretty clear (didn't matter if bernard had become a runner after receiving then).
versus burfict's hit, which is typically going to get called, even though i don't understand how a defender will consistently avoid penalties in these scenarios.
(offensive player can simply lower their head to draw a penalty. if defenders lower their shoulder rather than their head, it is also still a potential penalty).

personal fouls / coaches -
thought the call on the steelers coach out of bounds wasnt really warranted. they just ran into each other. if it was for something he verbally said maybe?
then jones 15 yarder when he's getting into with coach porter, who technically shouldn't even be allowed on field (medical staff, head coach only)? considering the previous play/penalty and game time, i thought that wasn't warranted either. refs seemed to go far beyond their duty in trying to control any chippy activity imo.

bryant's TD catch -
incredible. but was it really good, especially under current rules? in the slow-mo, it doesn't appear totally secured or not bobbling until his 2nd foot is down. then he has tightly pinned to his leg but is already flipping in the air headed out of bounds.

announcers -
nance thinking burfict was running the wrong direction after the interception? what?!
acted like burfict's hit on brown would lead to an unprecedented suspension or something.
seemed to go on and on about bengals fans booing/behavior/etc - while it may not have been great, you can't lump them all together like that (just like irish/hoosier fans!)
everyone knew the game was going to be chippy, but thought they did their best to make it over the top dramatic themselves - jim ross/wwe style.

I also thought the leading with the crown hit on Bernard should have been a penalty. With that said, why was the play whistled dead?

I saw the last two minutes.

The player (not pac man) who went head hunting - that's disgusting. Pac man - disgusting. If you are coaching - why is he even on the field during that injury. Take him off and send him to the bench to wait.

Maybe I'm getting old - but the end of that game was not pretty.

Bengals reminded me of (LOL!)

I am old,age 63,and I thought that was one ugly, stupid ending. Not a Bengals fan,but how can they be that dumb?It reminded me of a College team I saw play last fall that committed three face mask penalties on their last defensive series that enabled their opponent,Bowling Green to drive down the field and score the winning TD with six seconds left.
