Both #1 Villanova and #2 Kansas lost (to Marquette 72-74 and West Virginia 69-85, respectively). Virginia beat Notre Dame soundly at their place (I can't decide if Purdue would do alright against Virginia's style, a la Wisconsin, or not). Louisville absolutely destroyed Kevin Stallings' Pittsburgh team (106-51), Wisconsin's beating Penn State. Tennessee is up 10 on Kentucky right now. Maryland beat Rutgers, and South Carolina easily handled Auburn.

UK goes down too. Three of top four are losers tonight.
Bad news is ND got beat (badly at home) by Virginia 71-54

I'm a big fan of Bennett's pack-line defense, but Purdue has a good offense to attack it with its passing emphasis and inside outside game. Passing out of the post would be key in that match-up.

UVa would still be favored on a neutral court, but it wouldn't be an awful match-up for Purdue, IMO.

The Big Dance is wide open this year ...wait, it's pretty wide open every year ... but wait, this year it is especially wide open ... College ball has changed and the rules have changed and there are styles of play and players that are tough to play against. We have a key ingredient when we have both a killer inside game and are hitting from out ... if we can learn to stop guys like Josh Hart, we are competitive with most. TOs, hitting from out, stopping quick penetrators.
