assume all I need to do is log onto my Amazon account on his phone, then run the firestick through it to get access to Youtube (after paying for Youtube TV) to watch games on Slayter Saturday?

Assume you mean run the firestick through the hotspot on your friends phone?

Also, just because he has unlimited cell doesnt mean his hotspot data is unlimited. Learned that one on a 12 hour drive to vermont.

I've got 40 of Hotspot data and it's not cheap. That might be the most att offers.

Yeah, I pay $50 per month for 100GB per month of data only from T-Mobile for a hotspot I have. There are really no unlimited hotspot plans anymore.

Most of the ‘unlimited’ ones throttle the speed way down after some set limit per month. Will still work for basic connectivity, but probably not fast enough for streaming if you go over the limit.

It would be FAR cheaper to buy a ticket!!! :)

Not sure where you will be on Slayter but running a 3-4 hour game through your phone may be problematic. Do you know how good your 4G or 5G reception will be on the hill? Also, you may be able to use the YouTube app on the phone and cast to the TV, thereby eliminating the Firestick (unless that is your casting device because the TV is older).
