OT: Gerard Parker

Where do you see that he bailed on Cincinnati?
From the article > "However, according to the Cincinnati Enquirer, Parker resigned that position last week and was in line to become an assistant at East Carolina"

I am bummed to see this (the DUI), to say the least.

I would think Cincinnati > East Carolina unless he had a coordinator gig. Cincinnati also would have been close to his native KY, working with some people he worked with before, etc. On paper Cincinnati made perfect sense.

Wow. Certainly didn't see that in there when I read it last night. Maybe I missed it.

He would have been RB coach at Cincy and he was up for the WR coach at ECU. I think the trend is when OC's get fired, the WR coach is usually the next guy up.

That is not necessarily accurate; usually the QB coach or a guy with no position group or TE. I agree RB coach might be the "lower level" offensive positions and often that guy is the "Assistant Head Coach" or "Special Teams Coordinator" or "Recruiting Coordinator". He may have been more comfortable with WR. Who knows.

I wouldnt be surprised if he served a year as a quality analyst and then gets back on the sideline in fall 2018

This is not a career killer, but he may need to take a step or two backward and work his way back. Best of luck to the guy and hope he's learned from this.

You apparently have another personal vendetta.
Disgusting to see this from a supposed fellow boilermaker fan, especially when the guy is down.

Because you like him?

Didn't see anyone rush to the defense of other coaches who are crucified on these boards regularly for losing. Hell, Painter has had a top 25 program for much of his time at Purdue and the venom he gets is unbelievable to me. For some reason a few people have jumped on this guy's bandwagon though even though he carelessly put innocent lives in danger the other night.
