OT....Flood Devastation

Hey! I live in Weaverville, NC about 20 minutes north of Asheville. We were so lucky to have come through this disaster unharmed and with no damage to our property, but many were not. My wife and I spent the day arranging the rescue and relocation of a coworker who lost everything and nearly lost her 5 year old daughter in a flash flood (her 11 year old son jumped in after her). Samaritan's Purse is doing amazing work here, they are everywhere and making a real difference.
Please spread the word through the Boilermaker community the devastation is real and so many lost everything. If you are in a position to help please donate, volunteer, or help any way you can. As an engineer I am awe struck by the statistics and the science of this historic weather event. If you want information on how to help please reply and I'll be happy to post links, info, etc.
Many Thanks,

after I check out to see if we lose by 30 or 40 today , I'll be rounding up a box or two to donate

I live in Morganton NC about 1 hour , our power was down for 5 days , the first 2 days in the dark night all we heard were sirens and then a deadly silence , internet was out so phones weren't working . We have trees down everywhere on power lines, as we caught the backside of the storm , Asheville had the center ,the fact the power of this storm came as far inland should be one for the history books. Prayers to all those suffering with the loss of loved ones and their homes, nothing will be the same after this .
