OT - BLACK MONDAY

I was at the Colts game yesterday. It had to be the worst performance by the OL I have ever seen. Colts got outright manhandled by a 2 win team that had zero to play for. Bye bye playoffs. Heads should roll

As a Dolphins fan - I can't agree with you more! Flores was NOT part of the problem there. Sad to see him go.
Yep, I liked what he was doing. He was working with the GM to build a roster. And he had things moving in the right direction.

As we all know, the owner is the problem...

Flores had winning records the last 2 seasons, but good luck with Captain Fullback.
As I said, Don't piss off the boss.

The decision to fire Flores can be summed up with one word: Relationships. His relationship with Grier and Tua had deteriorated to a pretty bad place. Along with constant staff changes, owner Steve Ross no longer saw Flores as a healthy fit in Miami.

Brian Flores would be an upgrade over the last several coaches the Bears have hired. Belichick and Carroll were “rejects” at one point also…
Yes, he was 36-44, the last coach of the original Cleveland Browns, and immediately fired after the move was complete to Baltimore.

You might want to do some research on Harbawl’s relationships in San Fransicko….

Stop whining people. Try being a JETS fan since 1968, Super Bowl 3. But I do feel your pain. Dolphins = stupid.
Honestly, even with 28-3 on our backs, as a Falcons fan, I still look at the Jets and think, meh, it could be worse.

I could give a red rat's ass about San Fran. I want to see a winning program in Chicago.....a take no prisoner defense that puts the smell of fear when the other team reads scores in the paper. I want to see coaches like Ditka and Buddy on the sidelines. A QB like Jimmy Mac, runners like Sweetness, linebackers like Erlacher, linemen that aren't afraid to knock helmets off. If Harbaugh can instill that and draft the right players..bring 'em.

You just knocked Flores for not getting along with the GM.

Flores is a strong candidate. He’ll need a good OC and to be better with the staff things for sure. It’s a bit of a red flag but he is still worthy of serious consideration. Certainly much more so than Gruden, who was laughably suggested in this thread.

Root cause?
Disruptive and argumentative head coach.

Your corrective action?
Keep the problematic coach and fire the GM.
Yep. The trend in the NFL is to hire the Coach first, then the GM that fits with the coach, not the opposite. Dolphins gonna dolphin.

LOL. The GM and Owner think Tua is the guy. Flores and the rest of the world know he’s not. That’s why he’s gone.

And the Bears are wisely interviewing him for their head coaching vacancy.

2 years from now, he’ll be a head coach again, and Grier will no longer be a GM.

The Bears are interviewing a lot of folks and most likely will hire Harbaugh. Flores will not be their guy. He won't be anyone's guy. And maybe when Tua gets the right coach, you'll sing a different song.

Flores will be a head coach again. Maybe not this year, but soon.

Tua is too fragile for hte nfl.

We really liked Tua, we really felt very comfortable at the end of the day that he would be a fit here." Flores added that Tua ticked off all the boxes of a QB that the Dolphins were looking for: Good player, good teammate, leadership qualities, and so on, and so on, and so on.Nov 14, 2021

Miami Dolphins head coach Brian Flores repeatedly has answered questions about the team's reported interest in making a trade for Houston Texans quarterback Deshaun Watson by saying that Tua Tagovailoa "is our quarterback."Oct 29, 2021

You do know that Flores never played a down in the NFL...right? And again, he's 24-25 over three seasons with the fish. He'll make a nice position coach if he can get along with anyone

How many downs did Bill Belichick play in the NFL? How about Andy Reid?

Flores took over a dumpster fire left behind by Gase. The fact he has won as much as he has is a credit to his ability. The fact you think otherwise isnt surprising given your past hot takes on coaches.

We're not talking about Belichick or Reid. We're talking about Flores. Totally different person...totally different abilities.

Flores has as much NFL playing experience as super bowl winners Pete Carroll, Mike Tomlin, Jon Gruden and Mike McCarthy. Completely worthless point.
