A very irritating aspect of watching a close football game on television is having to listen to stupid time management advice by the announcers during the last few minutes of regulation time.
For example, in the Super Bowl, Al Michaels suggesting "Patriots should start calling timeouts?"
As one smart analyst said, if the Patriots had called timeouts, it is much more likely the Seahawks would have scored a touchdown.
An even dumber suggestion by Al Michaels when the Seahawks got down to the one-yard line was "let the Seahawks score?"
These are the sort of things Danny Hope might do (such as calling a timeout so Notre Dame could run an extra play and beat Purdue).
Fortunately for the Patriots, Bill Belichick is much smarter than Al Michaels and most other football announcers, and also much smarter than Danny Hope.
