OT - $7 million for top 2025 player

if you do a little research and visit some other sites, you will find that money did not come from BYU. That money came from two private sources. he would have received the same amount of NIL money no matter what school he chose.

I've said this over 100 times, players can make their own NIL deals. they are not dependent on the school for their NIL money.

My source ? the internet . go anywhere where they talk basketball, and put in his name and NIL after it and you'll find the truth. he already had received $4 mil of his NIL deal from Nike before he even chose to commit to any school. He also had a second lucrative NIL deal from a source outside of BYU. he could have signed anywhere and that money would be the same.

He chose BYU primarily because their entire coaching staff has connections to the NBA as prior coaches.
No one suggested otherwise. Your reading comprehension is atrocious.

No dude. He chose BYU because they are giving him $7M. Their main donor is a billionaire who owns the Jazz and who a BYU alum.

AJ used Bama and UNC to up the price from 5M to 7M at BYU. Source: the internet.

This was always a cash grab by him and his “team”. This byu staff hasn’t put anyone in the nba yet and their team isn’t any good vs any team that’s good. And I know this may shock you, but most high level, P4 programs have connections to the NBA by previously coaching there or developing relationships over their career.

I do gotta hand it to you Wole, you or you guys, do a really good job trolling all of us on this site and keeping it up the whole time. Just a masterclass on how to troll. Well done.

I wonder how that works legally for the church. Is it a charitable donation? How would taxes on it work? Mormons just out here shoveling out money for CBB and CFB.
Do you know many Mormons? I used to live in Idaho. Gorgeous country, nice people, but those Mormons are overtly crooked and don't even care.

I actually had a friend growing up that was. Great kid. Family ended up moving to Utah in middle school. I don't they themselves were bad people or anything. But they definitely moved for religious purposes.

Put is. Did you not read the link? Nike is giving him $4 million of his Nil money. That money is not coming from BYU. And he already made that NIL contract before he committed to play at BYU. He also has a second NIL agreement contract from another company. He made these contracts himself.

Can you honest tell people that NIKE cares where he plays basketball? And that he would only receive that money if he agreed to play at BYU? Is that what you truly believe?

Look at the date of the article I provided a link to. He already had an agreement with NIKE long before he chose BYU.

And like I said, BYU isn’t paying him that money, his other two pre arranged deals are.

If a player is a top 5 player and has a good agent, they can get their NIL deals and play anywhere they want.

There are several articles that point out BYU is becoming a popular place not because of the money they give out but rather their entire coaching staff has NBA experience.

I’ll repeat. The NIL money he’s receiving is not coming from BYU. NIKE didn’t give that money to BYU’s NIL fund! Nike had already promised it to the kid before he chose a school to attend.

My dad was a Mormon and lived in Utah. They have an interesting culture. I was a thespian and people there just assumed I was also Mormon. It’s amazing what you can learn from people if they think you are one of them.

I also lived in Georgia and Mississippi and ALABAMA. As I said, it’s amazing what you can learn from people who believe you are one of them.

My son is Black. It’s amazing what you can learn from people when they realize you are not one of them and never were one of them and were lying to them and were playing them for the fools they are.

That’s not part of the 7M. This is money from a shoe company so that they can market their shoes on him as a player and then have him be a Nike athlete when he gets to the nba (they are betting on him to be a star and will make them more profitable)…similar to Flagg signing with New Balance.

What does your son being black have to do with Mormons? You lost me on that one.

Couldn't do any worse than your boy Walters last season.
My boy? He was nowhere on my radar after Brohm left. When he was hired, I said "who?"
Was willing to give him the BOTD, and thought he could connect/recruit with young players, but didn't anticipate what happened.
