Harris, McLaughlin, Oden, Traylor seem to be locks, who gets the last spot? My early guess would be Farquhar with Grant, Woltman, and Whilby being the top 3 off the bench. Depth wise looks like these 8 along with Hardin and Diagne getting minutes, thoughts, just bored and wanted to get some lady hoops discussion.

Sounds about right. One thing I liked in an article I read(Lafayette J&C) is mention of more movement on the offensive end. Hopefully the new assistants bring(have brought?) a fresh approach to what has been too much standing around on that end of the court. Maybe increased depth will allow Purdue to run more and continue to be active on both ends.

Hard to believe minus injuries we won’t be decently better this year and compete in top 4-5 of bt if not better,
Top 3 would be my hope, of course barring injury. This is a team finally with some depth, not to mention 3 players in Mcglauthlin, Oden, Harris with tons of experience.

I'll be disappointed if one of the new players is not good enough to grab that fifth spot.

I just hope Traynor shoots the ball more... she should be a double digit scorer and potentially the best player on the team.. it's kind of redundant having 2 point guards with her and Karissa but I think that SV likes Traynor running the show and McLaughlin as the off guard knocking down 3 pointers.

I just hope we have an offense that focuses on our strengths. If the coaching staff needs new ideas they could maybe look at the offenses our men's team ran the past couple seasons. I could see running some things for KM like we did for Cline last season. Or maybe put Harris in the post and surround her with our best shooters like when we had Haas. That one might be more of a stretch because I don't think Harris demands the same type of attention that Haas did but just running something with some conviction and purpose would be a major step forward.

Agree TC4. I will be really surprised, minus key injuries, if this team is not way better than the last few years. Dare I say it. It looks like we are not losing any key players and will actually have some effective depth. I know it is popular to bash Coach V and I have done some of that too, particularly because her depth keeps getting drained by transfers. But maybe she is hanging in there and slowly building us back to respectability. For this fan base, the question is: Is competing well in the BT and getting in the tourney some enough or do we have to be a national team ( which is exceedingly hard in WBB) to appease them? Maybe some success this year will shed some light.

For most of the people that watch, maybe, part of one or two games a season (as in many on the Knucklehead forum), it will never be enough. We would all like Purdue to be in a final four again. It is odd to me how "fans" demand that of Versyp but not hold Coach Painter and, now, Coach Brohm to the same standards.

Having said that, this year is do-or-die for Versyp. She has the horses and now must either win or at the least place/show. If not, my feeling is she will be kicked upstairs.

We do need to be making the NCAA tournament most every year and competing near the top of the conference. If we can get back to that level, then I'll worry about final fours again. This team should be the best we've had in awhile if returning players have improved, new players can contribute, and coaches put them in places to succeed.
