It is amusing to watch the game go back and forth like a tennis match depending on who is in power. Amusing... and maddeningly frustrating.

The rancor has only ratcheted up over time. It’s very frustrating. If either party actually did what they said they would do (Establishment Rs and Ds) and stopped playing these games, they would wipe out the other party.

I know you dislike Trump greatly, but he actually tries to do what he campaigned on. He’s not always successful, but at least he tries. The Establishment of both parties are afraid of failure (outside of Obama’s attempt to implement Obamacare and the serious increasing of regulations). They don’t try because it’s “too hard” and might take “too long”.
