OMHR at RU tonight

Looks like Rutgers is no joke, at least tonight.
RU wins after playing fantastic D. However, the refs gave the game to RU with a bogus call at the end. Another observation...
RU could not handle Iowa's press, but due to low score, they didn't press much.

Okay, can we agree the big ten officials are just bad?
REALLY bad...to the point that they literally almost decided the outcome in the NW/MSU game on Saturday, flat blew a huge call last night at the end of the NW/Wisconsin game last night, and, then THAT tonight (which did decide the outcome).

That does not even account for things like Purdue/Wisconsin...the fact that TJD is essentially LeBron James in the B1G, etc.

I did not see game, but I'm getting to point where I WANT to see Bo and Lurch on a game which is saying something compared to a few years ago.

The crew that did the Wisconsin game with the short old guys with jacked arms have been awful in every game I've watched. Very, very inconsistent and blow some obvious ones.

Was Szelc on that one ? He’s the worst.

Saw a post on Twitter last night that the official who called that “foul” on Iowa is the same guy who called the “anticipatory” foul on Northwestern (vs Wisc) which replay showed to be a clean steal.
Can’t confirm as I don’t pay attention to names of officials, but if true, that guy needs to sit in the time-out corner for a month at the league office. SMH…

Regardless of officiating, we need Rutgers to win more games. That could still end up as a bad loss for us if Rutgers falls flat in the B1G. I'm not too worried about Iowa, though Fran McCaffery's teams have sometimes faded down the stretch.

Painful to watch. I turned it to Life Below Zero at times and when I came back awhile later, the score had barely changed.

Now that you say it, it may very well have been...Courtney Green definitely did both games...he indeed blew the call in the NW game.

I was pulling for Rutgers and my wife asked why, and, I said that it benefited Purdue for them to get wins, plus, just selfishly, I feel better if/when they beat some other times as I don't like that sense of them only beating Purdue.

That said...it could be time to get a little worried about Iowa, as, they have really struggled thus far.

I was shocked that Fran did not have a meltdown at the end...although, if you could read lips, he had some choice words...warranted though given how that ended.

There was another interesting matter at the end...Iowa big got fouled...50% FT shooter...left the game...Iowa inserted Patty McCaffery to shoot the FTs (82% FT shooter)...big that left then immediately comes over to go back in the game (although Fran did not put him right back in). I thought that had been addressed in the not too distant past and the opposing team got to select who shoots the FTs in that situation?

It was ugly indeed...and, it was not like either team was just locking guys down at the defensive end.

Where do you reside in Idaho out of curiosity?

What was the FranCon meter at last night ?
He had to have been "on something" for him to have maintained his composure to the degree that he did admittedly...I mentioned it in the thread, I was shocked that he did not implode at the end, but, to his credit, he did not (although it would have been entertaining admittedly if he had).

Boise. I'm from Goshen, IN originally and my parents and 2 of my brothers still live in the area there. I have been here 38 years now after I graduated in Forestry from PU , so I'm really from here now. I am and always will be a true Boiler, though both my two daughters graduated from Boise State. I work for a big Ag. Retailer as a Regulatory and Compliance Manager in Boise.

I thought Fran was strangely subdued in the post game presser as well. Maybe he just didn’t think the fines were worth it as it was pretty obvious to anyone who saw it that it was a phantom foul.

Agreed. He may also have been in a shameful mindset that when you only score 46 points you don't have much to whine about.

I am from Granger...Dad worked for years in Elkhart...wife is from Wakarusa...tons of ties to that entire area (Mishawaka, Elkhart, Goshen, South Bend, etc.).

My oldest daughter moved to Hailey two years ago, so, we have spent some time out in Idaho and surrounding areas as a result...I do my best to spread Purdue love whenever we are there by wearing Purdue gear all of the time...a couple of guys at local establishments or grocery stores have become quasi-fans as a result and follow Purdue now...and, my daughter has managed to get some folks interested from afar as well.

I have not been to Boise as of yet...she has...my wife flew in/out of there once.

I was admittedly skeptical of her move at the time that she made it, but, I could not have been more wrong...aside of it just being crazy expensive where she is at. I never could, or would, have imagined how nice Idaho is...she loves it there, and, we have thoroughly enjoyed the time that we have spent out there.

Hailey and the whole Sun Valley area is beautiful and still unique in culture. COVID is bad there now due to all the vacationers, at least they say. Difficult to find an affordable house to live or rent there, but Boise is like that now also with all the move-ins from those far western states. Bruce Willis, Demi Moore, Peter Cetera, and Tom Hanks are some who have houses in Hailey. My younger brother is a Pharmacist in the Granger area. My dad was a 38 year employee of Bendix in South Bend when he retired.

Small world...

Yes, COVID was "bad" when we were out there in December, and, remains so unfortunately.

It is an odd and unique situation for sure...and, she is incredibly fortunate to have housing provided through her job, as absent that, no way she would be able to live there...that was what was a primary draw in getting her there from Denver.

So many move-ins and transplants...it is crazy...and, just the fact that true occupancy is so low in that so many of the homes (and, HUGE homes at that) are second homes or vacation homes.

She has crossed paths with a couple of those folks and a few other "stars" in that there are a number of them as you pointed out. There was a great podcast about Bruce and Demi that we listened to on our way out actually last month, and, she has met him.

It is a pretty incredible area...the beauty and wealth are genuinely mind blowing...to have both to the degree that it does in such a remote area leaves me shaking my head and mumbling to myself almost constantly any time that we are there. If I had not been there or seen it with my own eyes, I never would have believed it.

My parents moved to Granger almost 50 years ago, and, my Dad was a salesman for years and Bendix was a customer/client...there was a baseball facility there just behind Bendix that I played at as well when I was growing up in that area.
