He's an asshole and would probably use us as a stepping stone. We also wouldn't have to pay him $5mil to come here. Probably.....gasp....$3mil.

Not my top choice but there are worse.

Yeah, I could live with this one. Leery of OSU assistants but he has been the head coach before

Turning Rutgers around was arguably even tougher than the task of turning Purdue around from our current sorry state.

As for being an asshole, you could say the same about Bobby Knight. Woody Hayes. Lou Holtz. Barry Switzer.

To your credit, you've made far worse suggestions on here this week. I'd honestly rather have Briles.

If he came to Purdue and had that bad of a record for the first four seasons, people would be calling for him to be fired. More, if Hazell manages to win 2 league games, he will have the same number of league wins as Schiano through four seasons.

Pastor Joe, Purdue is going to have that that type of record for the next 3-4 seasons regardless who we hire. Recruiting has been abysmal under Hazell.

Purdue needs someone who is capable of turning this thing around in 3-4 years. Schiano did that at Rutgers and that was a more hopeless situation than we have here at Purdue. Schiano has proven he can recruit and Hazell has proven that he cannot.

Schiano coached 11 seasons at Rutgers, taking one of the worst programs in the nation to six bowl games and was 9-4 his final season before becoming HC at Tampa Bay. He recruited well at Rutgers and took them to six bowl games in 11 seasons, going 5-1 in those bowl games.

Betcha Purdue could pay him more than he's making as an asst at OSU.

I don't see Schianos ground and pound offense working here, but he would be an improvement over Haze.

We need someone who can recruit. Schiano knows Ohio, PA, NJ and NYC and somehow he recruited well at Rutgers.
