Hey, guys. Here in Evanston for Purdue's game with Northwestern.
The Boilermakers are taking a bus back -- they took one here -- after the game, so wishing them luck in that trek in advance. I'll be braving the weather Sunday.
On to more pressing matters: Can the Boilermakers finally play well in Welsh-Ryan Arena? If it feels like Purdue hasn't won here very much lately, that's because it hasn't. Purdue has lost three of the last four games here in Evanston, and the one it did win was a one-pointer. Won't be easy tonight either.
Yes, the Boilermakers are riding that impressive streak of back-to-back victories over ranked teams -- first time since 2011, as we keep telling you -- but Northwestern has been, in Matt Painter's words, "snakebitten" of late. The Wildcats have competed with some good Big Ten teams only to lose heartbreakers.
Here's guessing the Wildcats will keep fighting, even if they're likely getting frustrated without much results for their efforts.
Purdue has to rebound and limit turnovers -- always Painter's script -- but I'll be interested to see how Hammons and Haas do against Olah, a big dude who has some versatility. Both big men haven't been great at boxing out lately, and that'll be key for them and everyone tonight.
Odds that SOMEONE makes a three-pointer for Purdue? Geesh.
Talk amongst yourselves throughout the game and keep up with us on Twitter and then back on the site afterward for a gamer, notebook, etc.
