Octeus vs Matt Carlino

Remembering last Spring when former IU commit Matt Carlino was rumored to be considering Purdue after his 3 years at BYU. Purdue ultimately ended up with Octeus instead - - saw Marquette highlight package of last nights game and had totally forgotten about him. Looked up his stats and he seemed to have a decent year on a team that isn't very good. No way would anyone trade Octeus for him at this point. Octeus has brought so much to the program that can't be measured on the stat sheet. I guess the thing about unanswered prayers may actually work out some times.

Kind of like when we got James Bullock instead of Dan Dakich. They were teammates in high school and Dan was the much more highly rated player.

Dakich is still much more highly rated in his own mind.

Or getting Troy Lewis instead of Delray Brooks. Delray was rated higher than Lewis coming out of high school although they were both top 20 type kids. Knight didn't want Troy and instead wanted Delray. Knight made mistakes, too just like all coaches.
