After what the FBI did to Black Panther, Fred Hampton in 1969, I'm not a big fan either. However, you know that FBI informants are not FBI agents don't you. Basically criminals that made a deal with the FBI for lighter or no sentence.

Since most are criminals, probably not. But they have done some good in helping taking down hard line crime bosses, gang leaders etc.
