Northwestern is giving us a chance to win so far. Will Purdue take advantage?

Are you rooting for Purdue to win? If they lose I want them to lose big so Hazell has a better chance of being fired

IndySS, going back to the targeting call/penalty, here is the NCAA rulebook:

"When the Instant Replay Official reverses the disqualification: If the targeting foul is not in conjunction with another personal foul by the same player, the 15-yard penalty for targeting is not enforced. If the player commits another personal foul in conjunction with the targeting foul, the 15-yard penalty for that personal foul is enforced according to rule."

The original call was "unnecessary roughness with targeting." That call seems to indicate they thought the contact to the receiver's head was unnecessary roughness even if the targeting (contact leading with the helmet) didn't apply...I don't think I agree with that assessment, but I think that is the only possible explanation for keeping the penalty.

This is on Haz - needs to be more animated in challenging the bad call.

Now back to the game - why are we going back to short pass after short pass - throw the ball down field!!!

Northwestern has only 19 passing yards yet leads by 7 at half.
When you don't have an option to kick field goals, you leave a lot of points on the field. We've outplayed them but we're not converting. That's the frustration in rooting for these guys -- it's like we're not playing to win. Just playing well is good enough. Ugh

Great to hear the Purdue band play Hail Purdue at an away game following a score.
Keep playing Boilers.

Nice drive!

Blough has been pretty impressive so far today. He's done a real good job converting on 3rd downs to keep drives alive.

For anyone keeping track, that's the third time a NW player has stayed on the ground when our offense gets moving. Just saying.

is NW competing for who can make the worst play calls?
it's sad seeing so many teams now in a shotgun/no backs with 1 yard to gain for first down or at goalline

last guy was embarrassed more than anything.
Jones doesn't appear that huge really but he apparently had the strength
