.....with 5 minutes to go in the game. Game is in Evanston.
That loss should not have happened

It is only because Purdue wore them out/down the other night........with 5 minutes to go in the game. Game is in Evanston.

Always, like 2 Lebrons, 2 Stephs, & a KD year after year. I bet Jok got his though, probably like 30 and 10 after we held him to 28&8NW must be supremely athletic!
So? We ROFLSTOMPED them at home as well. Oh wait, sorry that goes against the negatwitt narrative......with 5 minutes to go in the game. Game is in Evanston.

You are right, there is no way that loss should have happened,..there is not a valid excuse, despite many of them having been offered...not the first time though that it has happened in terms of losing a game that they definitely should not have, and am pretty confident that it won't be the last time that it happens either.
Where Purdue was picked going into the season is entirely irrelevant...it means nothing...no better example than Baylor not even having received a single top 25 vote and then being ranked #1 in the nation a week ago. Entering B1G play, Purdue, IU and Wisconsin were the clear favorites and picked by actually everyone at that point to be in the top 3, if not to win the league. There aren't "excuses" why Purdue lost. This is a Big Ten season that a bunch of teams aren't going to end the season with 2 or 3 losses. We're in mid-January and all but 2 teams have 2 losses or more in conference play. Wisconsin lost to us and Maryland lost to Nebraska at home. Northwestern lost to Michigan State and Minnesota. Michigan State has lost to Penn State and Ohio State.
Shit's going to happen, particularly on the road. And again, Purdue wasn't even picked going into the season to be in the top 3 of the Big Ten, so I'm not sure where these expectations are coming from. Nobody's happy that we lost, but it's also not the end of the world.
Nobody ever said that it was the end of the worlds, never mind insinuated it...but it is equally ridiculous to dismiss it or just accept it as mere fate or circumstance.
Yep, yep, yep, agreed...Unless you are the UCon women then it's within 20 points is the upset. And that's one reason why the men's game has more appeal.Rule # 1: Anyone can beat anyone on a given day. It happens all the time.
If by teeth gnashing you mean discussing the pros and cons of coaching strategy, I say yep, yep. That's what I believe this thingy is here for. Here's to a great effort and big win tonightSo there is an appropriate amount of teeth-gnashing that must occur?
FWIW, I think Purdue is still likely to finish in the top 3 in the Big Ten. Not likely to finish ahead of Wisconsin but Wisconsin was probably the favorite to win it pretty much every step of the way from the preseason through now.

The problem is not that $hit happens...it is that the same $hit happens...and it doesn't just happen on the road.
I could not care less about who else has how many ever number of losses, I only care about Purdue...and it is simple as this...Purdue has two losses that it should not have, and came perilously close to a third...it had nothing to do with where the game(s) were played, and everything to do with how Purdue played in them.
