How does IU or UoL hold on to any of their 4 * or better recruits?

I have to believe now that we are getting to the end that Purdue (or others) could turn a few quality recruits from UoL or IU into Boilermakers.

I dont think we have room in the class to go window shopping. Bell, Cam W, and maybe one more unless someone defects or is asked to decommit

I mean, Brohm was here when they committed to their schools. Why would they change just because he stayed?
Well, because Brohm will have Purdue in an elite bowl every year. Next year the Orange, the next, the Rose, the next the NCG. (TIC) I hope he surprises me a lot, but as one of the lone wolf's who doesn't see in him what others are wanting to see, this may be an expensive new contract.

UL has 9 commits, so not much there. For IU, we have way better commits at Robbins position, Purdue already told Tracy they didn't want him once, their cb recruit is way undersized (not the type of cb that Brohm goes for at all). Sampson James was a good pickup for them. They don't have much worth poaching either.

  • Cam Williams is 80% to IU. Not sure we have a shot.
Well, if he went to the Purdue/IU game and saw all that Goose crap masquerading as IU fans in the stands, maybe he is thinking Purdue would be great place to play?

UL only had 11 recruits, and only two that were worth anything. 1 was an OL, decommitted about 2 weeks ago and committed to Arizona. The other was the top juco tight end, he decommitted also when Petrino was fired. So they are down to 9, and none that you would want.

I would still like to see us go after Sampson. We don't know if Fuller and Wright are going to come back to their pre injury selfs.

Or they were on the fence and the potential thought of him leaving swayed them the other way. Not saying that's what they were/are thinking, just a theory.

I seriously doubt UL has any 4* recruits. I believe they have 9 guys committed

Guarenteed JPC donations over the next few months will cover most of the contract over the next year...plus merchandise and new season ticket sales will help as well.

Looking at the schedule, Purdue could be looking at 8-10 wins next season.

I was just looking at the 247 all time recruit ranking for Purdue. 3 of our top 10 all time are in this class. 6 of the top 25. It’s crazy. If we can get Bell and Williams? Damn.

He's wanted to come to Purdue form the beginning. Brohm wanted to see him get eligible which he is now. He is Purdue's to lose. Hell, he was on the Purdue sideline at the Bucket Game last week.
Not saying you are wrong but Wiltfong and all the CB picks are going to IU as of last night. We were told on our sight he could pop for IU at any time. Weaver on our site is really good at not giving fans false hope and when he says he really likes IU's chances here it usually means it is close to happening.

You must not understand how CB works. Right before a recruit visits a school, the CB picks go up for the school the recruit is visiting. Many times the CB picks are from homers of the school being visited. Williams visits Purdue next week. IU homers may think he's going there, but Brohm is a better coach and recruiter. Brohm wants him and will likely get him.
